Ji Defectors
The oppressed, although coerced into service by the Han dynasty, will gladly turn their weapons back on their former masters. An oppressed people will suffer and obey under corrupt rulers only until such time as a viable alternative is presented to them. Then, with others who support their cause, they will gladly fight and die to free themselves from tyranny.
Infantry carrying the ji polearm form the bulk of most Han forces. In fact, they are a vital component of any army, be it imperial or rebel. Certainly, their presence on the frontlines of a Yellow Turban army must be a worrisome sight for any government general.
