Flying Riders

There is no battle line, no formation, that these warriors cannot see put to ruin.

The formation of a battle line, its fundamental structure, is key to the successs of an army. Should the line falter, then the army too will likely follow. Units that can succesfully, and consistently, devastate formations are some of the most crucial on the battlefield.

Gao Shun, an authoritative, uncompromising man, leads such a force. His forces are elite, with a proven record of breaking apart enemy lines. With such openings created, an army flows through as water through a broken dam.

Unit Abilities

  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Diamond
    The unit forms into a hard-edged diamond, good for both offence and defence but limiting manoeuvrability.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.
  • Wedge
    The unit forms into a spear-tip, best for driving directly through enemy lines.

  • SCARE
    Reduces nearby enemy morale. Does not stack.
  • HIDE IN FOREST
    Can hide in forests.
  • IMMUNE TO SCARE
    Immune to scare effects.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: flanking
    Fast, agile and devastating - flanking units can turn the tide of battle with a well-timed charge or by routing enemy missile units.
  • Good charge
    This unit has a superior, devastating charge attack compared to other flanking units.
  • Good armour
    Heavy armour protects this unit from most damage, but armour-piercing weapons will still pose a threat to them.
