Archers of Jing

It takes a very steady hand, supreme patience, and expert timing to land a shot as accurately as these bowmen.

Along with spearmen, archers form the spine of any army. With sufficient training and physical strength even the lowest peasant can learn to draw, aim and fire - accuracy is less important when one arrow becomes one hundred.

These archers are far more than peasants, however; under the leadership of Sima Ai, they are better trained and better armoured. Additionally, they are armed with a dao, for should the melee come to them, they will be ready to defend themselves to the death!

Unit Abilities

    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.

    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: rear line
    These troops are best placed at the rear of an army, where they can cause damage from a position of relative safety.
  • Weak against cavalry
    This unit is very vulnerable to cavalry charges, especially to the flanks.
