Xu Raiders

Swift movement and deadly action are the essence of war. These warriors are fast as lightning, and just as lethal.

The speed and mobility of raiders is their greatest strength. Less armed and armoured than their contemporaries, raiders are nevertheless invaluable in softening up less defensible enemies and crushing those who try to flee.

Under Sima Yue's leadership, raiders bear down upon enemies with axes drawn, cleaving through any foe foolish - or insignificant - enough to not be well protected, as easily as a hand may pass through water.

Unit Abilities

  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Circle
    The unit forms into a tight circle, presenting a defensive front from any angle.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.
  • Shield Wall
    The unit presents a wall of shields to the enemy - an offensive formation best used to push forward under arrow fire. However the formation cannot be maintained in melee combat.

Attributes

  • SCARE
    Reduces nearby enemy morale. Does not stack.
  • HIDE IN FOREST
    Can hide in forests.
  • RAIDER
    Idle soldiers will burn down nearby buildings.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: assault
    This unit excels at charging enemy frontlines, slaying all in their path.
  • Good against shields
    This unit causes extra damage against shielded enemies.
  • Weak against cavalry
    This unit is very vulnerable to cavalry charges, especially to the flanks.
