Heavy Tiger & Leopard Cavalry

Cao Cao’s Tiger and Leopard elite cavalry are the very best, and are equipped accordingly. Holding a qiang spear in one hand with a round shield in the other, they target enemies armed with long-range weapons.

Though their full iron armour slows the speed of their mounts, along with their shields it provides robust protection from arrows and other projectiles as they close in on their prey. The extra weight of their armour adds a bone-crunching impact to their already devastating charges.

Unit Abilities

• Miasma
  The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
• Diamond
  The unit forms into a hard-edged diamond, good for both offence and defence but limiting manoeuvrability.
• Loose
  The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.
• Wedge
  The unit forms into a spear-tip, best for driving directly through enemy lines.

• DISCIPLINED
  Does not suffer a morale penalty when the general dies. It can also rally after routing more often.
• HIDE IN FOREST
  Can hide in forests.
• IMMUNE TO SCARE
  Immune to scare effects.

Strengths & Weaknesses

• Role: all-rounder
  Be it on the frontline, flanking, or when manning ordnance, this versatile unit excels in most positions.
• Missile defence
  These troops carry shields to protect them from incoming missiles, but offer little defence against artillery.
• Low damage
  This unit will consistently cause low damage; it will therefore take time for them to deal with enemy units.
